46th edition of the Châteaugiron town centre street sale, over 400 exhibitors at the foot of the castle
For over four decades, the association Castel Activ' has been organizing the town centre street sale in Châteaugiron. For its 46th edition, over 400 exhibitors — individuals and second-hand dealers — are taking over the streets and squares of this medieval town. From 8 am to 6 pm, bargain hunters browse stalls of clothes, furniture, toys, books, crockery, and collector's items, set against a backdrop of cobbled alleyways and half-timbered houses dominated by the imposing castle.
Châteaugiron (35410) is a 'Petite Cité de Caractère' (Small Town of Character) located about fifteen kilometres east of Rennes. Its 11th-century medieval castle, cobbled streets, half-timbered houses, and terraced gardens make it one of the most picturesque sites in Ille-et-Vilaine. Bargain hunting at the foot of the keep and the castle chapel means combining the pleasure of flea marketing with the discovery of remarkable heritage.
The association Castel Activ' enlivens the commercial and cultural life of Châteaugiron throughout the year. The annual street sale is its flagship event, a moment that unites shopkeepers, associations, and residents for a festive and popular day. Exhibitor registration is mandatory online via the mybrocante.fr platform. Vehicles are prohibited from 7:30 am to 6 pm, and vendors must be present for the entire duration of the event.
From Rennes, head east on the D463 (approx. 15 km). Peripheral parking, town centre closed to traffic.
