The Comité des Fêtes de Souzay-Champigny is one of the few organizers in Maine-et-Loire to offer two car boot sales per year: one in the spring and one in the autumn. This associative generosity offers bargain hunters and exhibitors two annual opportunities to meet in this beautiful wine-growing village of Saumurois.

Both editions offer a similar range: clothing and accessories for all sizes, toys and games, books and magazines, tableware and table arts, trinkets, light furniture, and various objects. The spring edition benefits from good weather and the dynamism of the year's first outdoor events; the autumn edition, on the other hand, takes advantage of the grape harvest season and the special atmosphere that animates the village at this time.

Two seasons, two atmospheres

Each edition has its own atmosphere. In the spring, tables are set up in the soft light of May or June, and visitors take advantage of the renewal to start the bargain hunting season. In the autumn, the flea market takes on warm colors and fits into the grape harvest ambiance that enlivens the entire Saumurois region. These two moments have become anticipated events for locals and regulars.

Souzay-Champigny, in the heart of the appellation

Souzay-Champigny (49400) is a commune in Maine-et-Loire nestled in the heart of the Saumur-Champigny appellation, one of the most renowned red wine appellations in the Loire Valley. Cabernet Franc vines stretch as far as the eye can see on the tuffeau slopes bordering the Vienne and the Loire rivers. The cellars dug into the tuffeau, some of which are troglodytic, are part of the commune's heritage landscape. The village, a few kilometers from Saumur, benefits from an exceptional setting between the river, vineyards, and tuffeau cliffs.
