Annual solidarity flea market of the Scouts and Guides de France on May 8th in Marsannay-la-Côte
The Solidarity Car Boot Sale of the Scouts and Guides de France of Marsannay-la-Côte is a charity event organized each year on May 8th by the 14-17 year old branch of the local scout group. Held at 39 rue de Mazy, this solidarity flea market offers about thirty stalls run by individuals, activities for children, a refreshment stand, and a stand presenting the Scouts and Guides de France. The profits are donated to a partner charity, in the spirit of commitment and solidarity that characterizes the scout movement.
Every May 8th, a public holiday, the Scouts and Guides de France of Marsannay-la-Côte organize their solidarity flea market at 39 rue de Mazy. This event, led by the 14-17 year old branch (Pioneers and Caravelles) and their leaders, combines the conviviality of a car boot sale with the solidarity commitment of the scout movement.
The unique aspect of this flea market lies in its solidarity dimension. The profits from the event are entirely donated to a partner charity. In previous editions, funds have notably supported the association Les Amis Comtois des Missions Centrafricaines. This initiative is part of the scout movement's pedagogy, which encourages young people to get concretely involved in serving others.
Marsannay-la-Côte, a commune of about 5,300 inhabitants located at the southern entrance of Dijon, is the first appellation of the Côte de Nuits. Renowned for its unique rosé wines in Burgundy, the commune offers a pleasant setting between vineyards and residences. The local scout group, based on rue de Mazy, actively contributes to the community life of this dynamic commune in the Dijon metropolitan area.
In addition to the thirty or so stalls offering used clothing, toys, books, and trinkets, the solidarity flea market features activities for children, a delicious refreshment stand, a presentation stand for the Scouts and Guides de France movement, and a stand dedicated to the beneficiary association. A raffle with gift baskets to be won completes the festive day. The atmosphere is warm and family-friendly, in the spirit of sharing that is characteristic of scouting.
The solidarity flea market is held from 8 AM to 5 PM at 39 rue de Mazy in Marsannay-la-Côte. Entry is free for visitors. Stallholders are invited to contact the scout group to reserve their spot. Parking is available on the surrounding streets.
