Every month of June, the Sarrant Festival Committee organizes its annual car boot sale under the centenary plane trees that shade the heart of this exceptional village, classified among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Private sellers set up their stalls along the shaded alleys, offering trinkets, crockery, clothes, books, toys, small furniture, and everyday items at attractive prices. The event, now in its 21st edition in 2026, has become a must-attend gathering of the summer season in the Gers Lomagne region.
Sarrant is a fortified medieval village whose charm captivates all visitors. You enter through a 14th-century fortified gate topped by a bell tower, which opens onto a maze of paved alleys lined with carefully restored half-timbered houses. The village features a Romanesque church, secret gardens, a renowned bookshop-gallery, and a recreated medieval garden. Its classification among the Most Beautiful Villages of France testifies to the exceptional quality of its built heritage and the vitality of its village community.
The large centenary plane trees lining the square and the village surroundings offer welcome shade in June, transforming the car boot sale into a pleasant and cool stroll. Sarrant's bucolic setting, between the Lomagne hills and the green Gascon countryside, adds a peaceful and authentic dimension to this day of treasure hunting. Refreshments and food on site, provided by the Festival Committee, allow visitors to refuel between finds.
The fee for exhibitors is €2 per linear meter, with the option to rent tables for €4 per table. Registration is done by email or phone with the Festival Committee. Entry is free for visitors. The car boot sale takes place from approximately 8 am to 6 pm, offering a full day of treasure hunting and discovery. Visitors are invited to extend their visit with a stroll through the medieval streets of the village and discover its artisans and creators.
