Car boot sale of May 8th organized by the APE of the public school Le Menhir in La Hisse, Saint-Samson-sur-Rance
Each year around May 8th, the APE of the public school Le Menhir organizes a large car boot sale in the locality of La Hisse, in the commune of Saint-Samson-sur-Rance. Approximately 200 exhibitors set up on this site bordering the Rance to offer a wide variety of second-hand items to visitors from the Dinan area.
The La Hisse site, nestled on the edge of the Rance, offers a pleasant natural setting for this day of treasure hunting. Exhibitors offer clothes, toys, tableware, books, trinkets, small furniture, and various items at low prices. The campsite parking is available for visitors and exhibitors, facilitating access to the site. Catering and refreshments, run by parents of pupils, complete the offerings of this family day.
Saint-Samson-sur-Rance is a commune of about 1,500 inhabitants located on the banks of the Rance, between Dinan and Plouër-sur-Rance. The village, dominated by its bell tower, offers remarkable views of the estuary. The locality of La Hisse, a former river port, is a heritage site appreciated by walkers and boaters. The municipal bulletin of April 2025 confirms the anchoring of this event in local life.
The profits from the car boot sale and catering are entirely donated to the APE of the public school Le Menhir, contributing to the financing of school trips, educational activities, and projects for the benefit of the children of the commune.
