Each year, the Saint-Puy Festival Committee organizes a car boot sale that takes place throughout the village. With about sixty stalls set up in the square and streets of the village, this event transforms Saint-Puy into a vast open-air treasure hunting ground, between stone houses and the hills of the Gers Ténarèze.
The unique feature of the Saint-Puy car boot sale is its location, which extends throughout the entire village. The stalls are not confined to a single car park or square: they stretch along the village street, creating a pleasant treasure hunting route that invites visitors to discover the village as a whole. You can find clothes, toys, crockery, books, trinkets, tools, and everyday objects, offered by private sellers.
The Festival Committee, chaired by Cathy Fournier, ensures a well-oiled organization: pitches at €2 per linear meter, tables not provided, booking at 06 72 15 64 56 or 06 86 07 48 68. Visitors benefit from free entry and on-site refreshment and catering services. The women of the Festival Committee prepare lunch with "smiles and great enthusiasm", as highlighted by the local press, offering a moment of authentic Gascon conviviality.
Saint-Puy is a commune of about 500 inhabitants located in the Ténarèze region, in the heart of the Gers department, between Condom and Fleurance. This hilltop village offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills planted with vines and cereals. The Ténarèze is one of the three terroirs of Armagnac, renowned for producing elegant and fragrant brandies. Saint-Puy retains an authentic Gascon rural heritage, with its stone houses and country lanes.
Described as a "super car boot sale" by Le Petit Journal du Gers, the Saint-Puy event enjoys a good reputation among local enthusiasts. The crowds are "present throughout the day" and the stalls are "varied", according to feedback from previous editions. From 8 am to 6 pm, the car boot sale offers a full day of treasure hunting in a preserved village setting, ideal for families and bargain hunters.
