Every late August, the commune of Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer hosts an attic sale on the esplanade facing the beach. Around 120 exhibitors offer their second-hand items in an absolutely unique setting: the beach of Omaha Beach, one of the five beaches of the Allied landings on June 6, 1944.

Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer, memory of D-Day

Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer is a coastal commune in Calvados inseparable from the history of World War II. It was on this beach that American troops landed on June 6, 1944, suffering heavy losses. Today, the American Cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer, located just next door, and the Omaha Beach Museum bear witness to this sacrifice. The car boot sale takes place in this historic location, on the esplanade facing the ocean.
