The Refuge de Gerbey, located in Chonas-l'Amballan in the Isère Rhône valley, organizes a large car boot sale every March for its four-legged residents. This charity event, which takes place over two days, attracts many animal lovers and solidarity shoppers.

Two days of treasure hunting and solidarity

The car boot sale takes place over two days: Saturday afternoon from 2 PM to 5:30 PM and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM. This extended format allows visitors to come at their own pace and combine treasure hunting with a visit to the refuge. In addition to the classic car boot sale, charity stalls and a solidarity second-hand shop offer items whose profits go directly to the association.

The Refuge de Gerbey: an animal protection mission

The Refuge de Gerbey is a reception center for abandoned animals (mainly dogs and cats) located at 338 route de Gerbey in Chonas-l'Amballan. This non-profit organization rescues, cares for, and rehomes the animals entrusted to it. The annual car boot sale is one of the essential sources of funding to ensure veterinary care, food, and maintenance of the refuge's facilities.

Food and conviviality

On Saturday, drinks and pastries are offered. On Sunday, a more complete catering service is available on site, allowing visitors to spend the day. The atmosphere is warm and committed, driven by the passionate volunteers of the refuge.
