Car boot sale as part of the annual fair of Pompignac, near Bordeaux
Each year in September, the village of Pompignac (33370) organizes its annual fair, of which the car boot sale is one of the highlights. Private sellers set up their stalls in the town center to offer a wide variety of second-hand items: clothing, toys, books, tableware, trinkets, small furniture, and decorative objects. The fair also hosts local artisans and producers, creating a lively market atmosphere.
Pompignac is a town of about 4,500 inhabitants located about fifteen kilometers east of Bordeaux, on the road to Entre-deux-Mers. Despite its proximity to the Bordeaux metropolis, the village has managed to preserve its rural character with its vineyards, woods, and walking paths. The Romanesque church and the Château de Pompignac bear witness to the heritage richness of this commune. The annual fair is one of the most anticipated events in village life.
The Pompignac car boot sale is part of a larger festive day, with entertainment, craft and local product stalls, as well as on-site catering. Admission is free and the atmosphere is family-friendly. The proximity of Bordeaux guarantees a good turnout of visitors.
From Bordeaux, take the D936 towards Créon. Pompignac is about 15 km east of Bordeaux.
