The Easter Car Boot Sale: an Easter event in the heart of Lévézou

Every year, Easter Sunday marks the start of the car boot sale season in Pont-de-Salars with a large car boot sale organized at the village hall. This event, distinct from the April car boot sale usually held outdoors by the APE, takes place mainly indoors with an overflow outdoors when the weather permits. From 8 a.m., private sellers set up their stalls to offer visitors a wide variety of items at low prices.

Pont-de-Salars: capital of the Lévézou plateau

Located 22 kilometers south-east of Rodez and 40 kilometers north of Millau, Pont-de-Salars is the most important commune on the Lévézou plateau, a mid-mountain region of Aveyron known for its vast spaces and its five lakes. The village, with a population of 1,630 inhabitants called Salarsipontains, has developed on the edge of the Pont-de-Salars lake, a large reservoir created between 1948 and 1952 by the construction of an arch dam on the Viaur. This lake, which stretches for about 6 kilometers, offers an exceptional setting for water activities and walks along its developed banks.
