Car boot sale Plant Market — Chemazé (53200), June
In Chemazé (53200), a commune in the Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne sector, an original event brings together two passionate audiences every June: bargain hunters at the car boot sale and gardening enthusiasts who frequent the plant market. This dual offering creates an interesting synergy, attracting a diverse audience for a day full of discoveries.
Chemazé is a village in the Mayenne valley, in the southern part of the department. The Château-Gontier region, of which it is a part, is renowned for its horticulture and nurseries — the town of Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne is even nicknamed "the capital of cut flowers". This floral and horticultural tradition naturally flourishes in the events of the surrounding communes, including Chemazé.
The plant market is a sales and exchange area for plants, flowers, shrubs, and gardening accessories, offered by both local producers and amateur gardeners wishing to share their surplus. Gardening enthusiasts can find varieties sometimes unavailable in traditional retail channels, at affordable prices and with expert advice from producers.
The car boot sale complements this offering with the usual second-hand items: crockery, clothing, books, toys, trinkets, and various objects. Some exhibitors also offer used gardening equipment (tools, pots, accessories), which naturally fits into the green atmosphere of the event.
The entire event takes place outdoors, in a rural setting that invites leisurely strolling. The greenery and flowers of the plant market give the day a gentle and soothing atmosphere, typical of early summer in Mayenne.
The Molières Village Flea Market and Plant Fair returns on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in Chemazé (53200). Organized by Paul Arene and the Molières residents' collective, this annual event brings together between 50 and 100 exhibitors — individuals and professionals — in the courtyards of houses, the main street, and the presbytery garden.
On Sunday, June 14, 2026, the hamlet of Molières — located approximately 4 km from the town of Chemazé — hosts its traditional flea market and plant fair. Exhibitors set up their stalls in the courtyards of houses and along the street, while nursery owners and craftspeople take their place in the presbytery garden.
In addition to the bargain hunters' stalls, this edition features an exhibition of vintage cars in the village square, as well as a musical performance. Food and refreshments are available on site, and parking is provided nearby.
The event is an opportunity to discover the hamlet's heritage (12th-century church, presbytery, old wash house). Several local associations traditionally participate, including les Amis de Molières and les Camaz'arts.
