Car boot sale on May 8th at the Allamps fire station
Each year, on May 8th, the village of Allamps takes advantage of the public holiday to organize its car boot sale at the fire station, rue du Lieutenant Clerc. This event has become a popular tradition for the inhabitants of the Toul and Colombey-les-Belles area, who come to hunt for treasures in an authentic village atmosphere.
Allamps is a small village in Lorraine nestled in the rolling countryside of the Toulois region, halfway between Toul and Colombey-les-Belles. The fire station grounds, well-known to locals, offer an ideal space to host the approximately seventy-five exhibitors who come to clear out their attics and cellars. The adjacent streets are also used when the turnout is high.
In this type of village car boot sale, prices are particularly attractive. Exhibitors, mainly individuals, offer clothes, toys, crockery, tools, books, trinkets, and everyday items. It's the perfect place for bargain hunters looking for little treasures at low prices, in a relaxed atmosphere far from large urban sales.
The refreshment stand and food stall, run by local volunteers, allow visitors to eat and drink throughout the day. It's also an opportunity for the residents of Allamps and neighboring villages to gather for a festive and friendly occasion, in the spirit of Lorraine's rural traditions.
