Spring car boot sale at the Mélusine hall in Landéan, near the Fougères forest
Every early May, the commune of Landéan organizes its annual car boot sale at the Mélusine hall, place de la Longue Noé. Private sellers offer a varied range of second-hand items: clothes, toys, books, crockery, small furniture, tools, and trinkets. The event, located near the Fougères forest — one of the most beautiful forests in Brittany —, attracts bargain hunters from the Fougères region in a green and peaceful setting.
A commune of about 1,500 inhabitants located 5 km north of Fougères, Landéan is intimately linked to the Fougères forest, a vast 1,600-hectare forest massif, largely classified. The commune notably houses the remains of the Cellier de Landéan, a former medieval priory, and its proximity to the megaliths of the Cordon des Druides makes it a place steeped in legends. The Mélusine hall — named after the fairy of the same name — is the village's main event space.
The refreshments and food available on site allow you to combine bargain hunting with a gourmet break. Entry is free and the village atmosphere invites leisurely browsing in this preserved natural setting.
