Lacave, a village in the Dordogne valley in Haut-Quercy, hosts its popular car boot sale every summer in the parking lot of the Grottes de Lacave. This event, organized by the village's Festival Committee, brings together about forty private sellers in this vast area on the banks of the Dordogne, at the entrance to one of the most spectacular tourist sites in the Lot.

Located in the parking lot of the Caves, the market benefits from the proximity of the Dordogne river and the limestone cliffs that characterize this area of Haut-Quercy. The coolness of the valley, in the shade of chestnut and oak trees, offers exhibitors and visitors appreciable comfort during summer days.

The Grottes de Lacave, neighbors of the flea market

The Grottes de Lacave are one of the major tourist attractions in the Lot. Discovered in 1902, they extend over a kilometer into the heart of the causse and offer an exceptional geological spectacle with their stalactites, stalagmites, and underground lakes. A visit to the caves can be combined with the car boot sale for a full day of discovery in the Dordogne valley.
