Car boot sale of La Ciotat

On May 1st, 2025, the Car boot sale of La Ciotat welcomed bargain hunters and strollers at the Parc de loisirs la Guillaumière, boulevard de Lavaux. This spring public holiday offered the ideal opportunity for a family outing in this port town of the Bouches-du-Rhône, at the foot of the majestic Bec de l'Aigle and facing the Provençal calanques.

The stalls of individuals offered a wide variety of items: tableware and ceramics, old books and comics, clothing and accessories for the whole family, toys, furniture, and decorative trinkets. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere, typical of car boot sales in the south of France, allowed visitors to hunt for treasures at their own pace while enjoying the Mediterranean sun.

La Ciotat, the town where the Lumière brothers shot their first films in 1895 and home to the Eden Théâtre, the world's oldest cinema, provided a unique cultural and historical setting for this flea market day. Bargain hunters could extend their visit by strolling through the old port or taking a boat trip to Île Verte, the only wooded island in the Bouches-du-Rhône.
