Autumn car boot sale organized by the Comité des Fêtes de Tauriac, on the hillsides of Bourgeais
Every autumn, the Comité des Fêtes de Tauriac organizes a car boot sale in the center of this village in Bourgeais. Private sellers set up their stalls to offer a wide variety of second-hand items: clothing, toys, books, tableware, trinkets, small furniture, and decorative objects. The event takes place in a warm village atmosphere, in the rolling hills of the right bank vineyards.
Tauriac (33710) is a commune of about 1,600 inhabitants located in Bourgeais, on the right bank of the Dordogne, a few kilometers from Bourg. The village is known for its Pair-non-Pair cave, one of the oldest decorated caves in Europe, classified as a historical monument, with rock engravings dating back over 30,000 years. Tauriac is also a wine-making village in the Côtes de Bourg appellation, renowned for its full-bodied red wines. Its limestone hills, cliffs, and troglodyte dwellings give the village a remarkable geological character.
The Comité des Fêtes de Tauriac organizes the car boot sale and other events that bring this characteristic village to life. Entry is free and a refreshment stand is provided by volunteers. The car boot sale can be an opportunity to discover the Pair-non-Pair cave or to taste the wines from local châteaux.
From Bordeaux, take the A10 towards Paris, exit Saint-André-de-Cubzac then the D669 towards Bourg and Tauriac. Approximately 40 km north of Bordeaux.
