Car boot sale and craft market in the heart of the village of Maransin, in the Blayais region of Gironde
Every year in May, the small village of Maransin (33230) comes alive for a car boot sale combined with a craft market. This rural commune in the Blayais, nestled in the wine-growing hills on the right bank of the Gironde, offers an ideal rural setting for a day of bargain hunting in the open air. Individuals set up their stalls in the village square and offer clothes, toys, books, tableware, trinkets, and small furniture at attractive prices.
In addition to the car boot sale, a craft market brings together creators and artisans from the region. You can discover local products: pottery, jewelry, wooden objects, jams, honey, and other specialties from the Blayais terroir. This dual event makes the day a friendly gathering appreciated by the inhabitants of Maransin and the surrounding communes — Cars, Berson, Mazion — who come to hunt for bargains, stroll, and meet up over a drink at the refreshment stand.
Maransin is a small commune of about 300 inhabitants located about ten kilometers south of Blaye, in the Côtes de Blaye appellation. The village, surrounded by vineyards and meadows, has retained its rural character and authenticity. The May car boot sale contributes to the liveliness of this peaceful commune where associative life remains the driving force of local conviviality.
