Car boot sale of the Comité des Fêtes de Capeyron in Mérignac, place Jean Jaurès
The Comité des Fêtes de Capeyron organizes a car boot sale twice a year on the place Jean Jaurès, in the center of the Capeyron district in Mérignac. This square, lively with its shops and terraces, transforms for a day into a large market of second-hand items. Private exhibitors set up their stalls and offer clothes, toys, books, tableware, trinkets, small furniture, and a thousand other treasures at low prices.
Mérignac is the second most populous municipality in Gironde, with over 72,000 inhabitants. Located west of Bordeaux, it hosts the Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport and benefits from tramway service. The Capeyron district, one of the oldest in the city, retains a village character with its church, square, and shops. The car boot sale is part of the lively life of this district and attracts residents of Mérignac and neighboring towns.
The Comité des Fêtes de Capeyron usually schedules two car boot sales per year: one at the beginning of spring, in April, and the other in June. Both editions are held on place Jean Jaurès. A refreshment stand and a food stall are provided by the committee's volunteers. Entry is free and the atmosphere is family-friendly, with entertainment for children during some editions.
Line A, Mérignac Centre stop, then a few minutes' walk.
