Annual car boot sale in the heart of the village of Cazilhac, in the Aude
The Cazilhac Car Boot Sale is one of those popular events that punctuate the associative life of Aude villages. Each year, the inhabitants of Cazilhac and neighboring communes take over the village streets and squares to offer their second-hand items, creating an open-air neighborhood party atmosphere.
Cazilhac is a commune in the Aude located in the Aude valley, a few kilometers from Carcassonne. Its green setting and its geographical location in the heart of the Aude make it an ideal starting point for walkers who combine a visit to the market with a discovery of the surroundings.
The sellers, mostly private individuals, offer a variety of items typical of village car boot sales: children's and adult clothing, toys and board games, books and comics, dishes and kitchen utensils, tools and garden equipment, vinyl records and cassettes, trinkets and decorative items. Vintage and flea market enthusiasts regularly find interesting pieces at these village events where prices remain very affordable.
The Cazilhac car boot sale is distinguished by its friendly and family atmosphere. Children accompany their parents in search of toys or books, while the elderly chat over items that evoke shared memories. A refreshment stand is usually run by the organizing association, allowing visitors to cool down and volunteers to fund their activities.
Admission is free for visitors. Private sellers register with the association to reserve their spot. The cost of the spot remains modest, in line with the practices of local associative car boot sales.
The commune of Cazilhac benefits from a privileged location in the Aude department. In the immediate vicinity of Carcassonne and its famous medieval City, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Cazilhac is also close to the Canal du Midi, another World Heritage jewel. Visitors coming from further afield can thus take advantage of their trip to explore this territory rich in history and landscapes.
The Minervois and Corbières, two renowned wine-growing regions, surround the commune, offering the opportunity to extend the day with an oenological discovery. Local producers' markets and cooperative wineries complete the local discovery offerings.
The Cazilhac Flea Market (Aude), organized by the festival committee, is a recurring event for bargain hunters from the Carcassonnais region, held at the village's multi-purpose hall (11570). The committee organizes several editions throughout the year (in spring and autumn), with early morning opening and a refreshment stand / catering on site.
Held at the multi-purpose hall in Cazilhac, this flea market brings together individuals and bargain hunters around low-priced pitches (10€ for 4 meters). It opens early in the morning (6 am-7 am depending on the edition) and a refreshment stand with light catering is offered by the volunteers of the festival committee. To reserve a pitch or get the date of the next edition: 06 80 21 41 61.
2026 Date: at the time of our verification (June 2026), the precise date for the 2026 edition had not yet been published by the organizer. The festival committee usually holds its flea markets in spring (March/April) and autumn (October), as well as a toy fair in December. The displayed date is provisional and will be updated upon official publication.
