Summer car boot sale in the Capitourlan district of Castillon-la-Bataille, organized by the residents' association
Every summer, the Capitourlan district in Castillon-la-Bataille (33350) hosts a popular car boot sale organized by the residents' association. Individuals set up their stalls in this residential area to offer clothes, toys, books, crockery, trinkets, small furniture, and various items. The atmosphere is family-friendly and relaxed, typical of neighborhood car boot sales that bring life to the towns of the Libournais region.
Castillon-la-Bataille is a commune of about 3,000 inhabitants located on the right bank of the Dordogne river, east of Libournais. Its name evokes the famous Battle of Castillon on July 17, 1453, which ended the Hundred Years' War and sealed the attachment of Guyenne to the French crown. Every summer, the town reenacts this historical event in a spectacular sound and light show. The appellation Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux produces quality red wines.
The Capitourlan district, located on the outskirts of the town center, offers an open and accessible space for the car boot sale. The refreshments and food, provided by the association's volunteers, offer cold drinks and grilled items. The pitch for exhibitors is set at €2 per linear meter or €10 for 6 meters. Entry is free for visitors.
