Summer car boot sale organized by AS Football in Pellegrue, a bastide in Entre-deux-Mers
Pellegrue (33790), an old medieval bastide perched on a hill in the Entre-deux-Mers region, hosts the AS Football car boot sale every summer. This popular event allows the local football club to finance its sports activities while offering residents and visitors a friendly day of treasure hunting in a remarkable historical setting.
Exhibitors set up on the market square and adjacent areas to offer a wide range of second-hand items: clothing, toys, books, crockery, trinkets, small furniture, tools, and decorative objects. The medieval setting of the bastide, with its arcades and half-timbered houses, gives this car boot sale a special charm. Club volunteers provide drinks and grills throughout the day.
Pellegrue, a commune of about 1,100 inhabitants, is an old English bastide founded in the 13th century. Located at the eastern end of Gironde, bordering Lot-et-Garonne and Dordogne, it overlooks the rolling landscape of Entre-deux-Mers. Its architectural heritage, vineyards, and Sunday market make it an endearing village where associative life, supported notably by the football club, remains a pillar of social cohesion.
