About Car boot sale APE Arsac-en-Velay

Every May 8th, the APE Yves Coppens of Arsac-en-Velay organizes its annual car boot sale in the school parking lot, 1 chemin de l'École. About forty exhibitors gather for this friendly event in Haute-Loire, opening at 7 am, with a fee of €7 for 5 meters and catering on site.

The APE Yves Coppens Car Boot Sale in Arsac-en-Velay

Every May 8th, Victory Day 1945, the commune of Arsac-en-Velay hosts the annual car boot sale organized by the APE Yves Coppens, the parents' association of the village school. The name was chosen in homage to the famous French paleontologist Yves Coppens, discoverer of Lucy, who gave his name to the local school. This human-sized, local car boot sale is an eagerly awaited event for families in the village and neighboring communes.

About Forty Exhibitors in the School Parking Lot

The car boot sale is held in the school parking lot, at 1 chemin de l'École, in front of the community hall. With around 45 exhibitors, the event is the ideal size for a village car boot sale: large enough to offer great finds, friendly enough for everyone to meet and chat. The items offered are varied: children's toys and games, books, clothing, tableware, tools, trinkets, and everyday objects.

Prices and Organization

The price is set at €7 for 5 linear meters, accessible to all individuals wishing to clear out their attics. It opens in the morning, with exhibitors setting up from 6 am and the market welcoming visitors from 7 am. Closing is scheduled for late afternoon. For registrations, interested parties can contact the APE by email at [email protected].

An Initiative for the School

As with all APEs, organizing the car boot sale is an important source of funding for school activities. The funds raised help finance educational outings, classroom equipment, or cultural projects for the children of the Yves Coppens school. This car boot sale is therefore an act of community solidarity for local education.

Arsac-en-Velay, a Village on the Plateau

Arsac-en-Velay is a rural commune on the Velay plateau, part of the Le Puy-en-Velay agglomeration community. Its peaceful agricultural village setting, surrounded by meadows and forests, offers an authentic backdrop for this family car boot sale. A few kilometers from Le Puy-en-Velay and its many tourist sites, Arsac-en-Velay benefits from a favorable geographical location that attracts increasing numbers of visitors during its events.
