Annual flea market on August 15th in the Bréda valley
Every August 15th, Assumption Day, the commune of Haut-Bréda hosts its annual flea market and car boot sale. This festive event brings together exhibitors and bargain hunters in the Bréda valley, in the heart of the Belledonne massif. Rue Louise Barnier transforms into a long ribbon of stalls where antique objects, clothes, toys, and trinkets of all kinds are displayed.
Haut-Bréda is a commune born from the merger of Pinsot and La Ferrière, two mountain villages steeped in history. The Bréda valley was a major iron and steel center for a long time, as evidenced by the Musée des Forges et des Moulins de Pinsot. This industrial tradition has left a rich heritage that visitors can discover in addition to the flea market.
The atmosphere of this village flea market is particularly warm. Residents of Haut-Bréda and neighboring communes meet in a relaxed atmosphere, between the stalls and the refreshment stand. The mountain coolness in the middle of August adds to the pleasure of bargain hunting. Visitors can combine their visit with a hike in the surrounding area, as the Bréda valley offers many marked trails.
