Every June, the Clotais grounds, 22A rue Charles de Gaulle in Saint-Jean-de-Boiseau (44640), hosts a unique event: the Car boot sale and Creators Village. This event harmoniously combines a classic car boot sale, a village of local creators, and a plant swap, offering visitors a rich, diverse day committed to the values of sharing and artisanal creation.
Saint-Jean-de-Boiseau is a commune in the Pays de Retz, on the south bank of the Loire, about ten kilometers west of Nantes. A village with a peaceful atmosphere, surrounded by hedgerows, vineyards, and meadows, it benefits from a privileged geographical location between the river and the countryside. The Clotais grounds, on rue Charles de Gaulle, offer an outdoor space perfectly suited for an event combining nature, creation, and sharing.
The Creators Village is the distinctive signature of this event. Local artisans and creators exhibit and sell their productions: ceramics, jewelry, textiles, painting, sculpture, illustration, photography, artisanal soaps, homemade jams, and many other original creations. This artistic and artisanal dimension elevates the event beyond a simple car boot sale, attracting an audience sensitive to the local economy and quality craftsmanship.
The plant swap is the other original feature of this summer gathering. Gardening and plant enthusiasts meet to exchange cuttings, vegetable and flower plants, seeds, bulbs, and tubers. This ancestral practice of plant sharing, revived by the circular economy and shared gardening movements, attracts a large and passionate audience. For gardeners in Saint-Jean-de-Boiseau and neighboring communes, it's the perfect opportunity to renew their plant collection at no cost.
ℹ️ 2026 edition not confirmed. At the time of our editorial verification (May 2026), we found no public source (organizer Amicale Laïque, Saint-Jean-de-Boiseau town hall, flea market aggregators, local press) announcing a 2026 edition of the Vide-grenier et Village Créateurs. The official website of Amicale Laïque currently only mentions the 2025 edition (Sunday, June 22, 2025). If you are the organizer and this flea market is indeed taking place in 2026, please do not hesitate to inform us via the event modification form.
The Vide-grenier et Village Créateurs of Saint-Jean-de-Boiseau (Loire-Atlantique) is traditionally organized every year in June by the Amicale Laïque on the Clotais field, 22A rue Charles de Gaulle. The event usually brings together individuals exhibiting clothes, toys, books, and various objects, artisanal creators, as well as a plant and seed swap, with a bar and on-site catering. The last publicly documented editions took place on June 30, 2024, and June 22, 2025. To date, no source confirms the holding of a 2026 edition.
