The Car boot sale and Associations Festival of Comprégnac enlivened the village center for the 2025 edition, on Thursday, May 8th. Organized by the Comité d'Animation de Comprégnac, this annual event transformed the streets of this village of 248 inhabitants in southern Aveyron into a large, festive, and friendly flea market, in the heart of the Parc naturel régional des Grands Causses.
The stalls of individual exhibitors were set up in the village center from 8 a.m., offering the varied assortment of Aveyronnais car boot sales: crockery and kitchenware, books and magazines, clothing for the whole family, toys, decorative trinkets, DIY tools, and small furniture. Bargain hunters could browse the stalls until 5 p.m. in the streets of this charming village with stone houses, dominated by its castle housing the Maison de la Truffe.
The associative dimension of the event was the true common thread of this May 8th day. Local associations competed with their offerings: Tarnaval offered fresh bread baked in the communal oven of Peyre, this troglodytic village listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, clinging to the cliff above the Tarn. L'Écho des Avens and Tambourefanfare provided lively musical entertainment throughout the day, while the Compagnie Tête d'Ampoules offered street performances and a free children's café-théâtre in the Château hall. The associative grocery store l'Épi-C and the Station D41 completed the offerings with catering and children's activities.
The free visit to the Maison de la Truffe, located in the castle of Comprégnac and dedicated to the black truffle (Tuber melanosporum), allowed visitors to discover the work of Aveyronnais truffle growers on the limestone plots of the Causses. Between bargain hunting and strolling through the wisteria-lined alleys, this 2025 edition confirmed the event's place in the calendar of southern Aveyron events, in an exceptional natural setting between the Tarn valley and the plateaus of the Larzac, with the Millau Viaduct as a backdrop.
