The whole village mobilised for Cadenet's great spring flea market
Each spring, Cadenet transforms for a grand hunting day: the whole village takes part in the flea market stretching from Cours Voltaire to the adjacent alleys. From 8am to 5pm, residents and visitors browse stalls in the atmosphere of this Provençal village famous for its tambourinaire and fountain.
More than a simple flea market, this is a full village mobilisation. From the main Cours Voltaire to adjacent alleys and squares, exhibitors set up everywhere. The "whole village" format lets hunters wander for hours, discovering Cadenet's picturesque corners along the way.
At the south of the Luberon, Cadenet is known for its famous tambourinaire André Estienne, hero of Napoleon's Italian campaign, whose statue adorns the main square. The village also has a four-mask fountain, castle ruins on a rocky spur, and a popular Provençal market.
The village's beating heart: a wide avenue shaded by plane trees, lined with shops and cafés. Stalls extend all along, shaded by century-old trees.
Private sellers mostly: bric-a-brac, tableware, linen, children's and adults' clothes, toys, books, records, small furniture, décor, old tools, costume jewellery. Fans of regional pottery, Provençal faience and antique textiles (boutis, indiennes) often find fine pieces.
On Sunday 17 May 2026, Cadenet empties its attics from 8am to 5pm. The plane-tree-shaded Cours Voltaire and the whole village mobilise to welcome exhibitors and hunters in the typical Provençal atmosphere of the southern Luberon. A great festive and friendly day, blending private sellers and professionals.
