Two annual flea markets in May and September at the Mont-Saint-Père playground
The ESCMSP association and the Festival Committee of Mont-Saint-Père organize two annual flea markets on the village's playground and sports field, Chemin de Tivoli. These spring (May) and back-to-school (September) events are eagerly awaited by bargain hunters from the Marne Valley and southern Aisne.
Mont-Saint-Père is a charming village in southern Aisne, located on the banks of the Marne, a few kilometers downstream from Château-Thierry. The village is famous in art history for having hosted the painter Léon Lhermitte, whose main street bears his name. This bucolic setting, between vineyards and the meanders of the Marne, gives the flea markets a special charm.
The organizers offer pricing that favors village residents: €6 for 5 meters for residents of Mont-Saint-Père, €10 for outsiders, and €15 for professionals. Fast food and a drinks stand are available on site, and restrooms are provided.
The May flea market opens the outdoor bargain hunting season in southern Aisne, while the September one offers a last chance to hunt for treasures before autumn. Both editions take place on the same site, the playground on Chemin de Tivoli, which offers enough space to accommodate many exhibitors in a green setting.
