Village flea market in the heart of Bresse jurassienne
Every May, the small village of Aumur, located in the heart of Bresse jurassienne, hosts its annual flea market and car boot sale. With around 40 exhibitors set up around the church square, the event retains the charm of small country gatherings where people take the time to rummage and chat.
The stalls offer both flea market items and everyday objects sold by individuals: antique tableware, trinkets, books, toys, clothes, garden tools, and small furniture. The atmosphere is relaxed and the prices are affordable, characteristic of rural flea markets where the joy of discovery takes precedence over speculation.
Aumur is a commune of about 150 inhabitants, nestled in the rolling landscape of Bresse jurassienne, between Bletterans and Lons-le-Saunier. This area of hedgerows and meadows, renowned for its cheeses and poultry, offers a preserved natural setting. The Aumur flea market is an opportunity to discover this secret corner of the Jura, far from the usual tourist routes.
The event is enlivened by the villagers who usually offer a refreshment stand and some local specialties. It's a moment of sharing and conviviality that punctuates the life of this small Bressan town. Visitors appreciate the calm and authenticity of this hamlet flea market.
