Free entry for visitors.
Every third Sunday of the month, the Quai Farconnet in Tournon-sur-Rhône transforms into a lively treasure market. The Bric à Broc association, committed to a solidarity approach, brings together about thirty exhibitors – individuals and antique dealers – offering antique furniture, tableware, trinkets, books, clothes, and everyday objects from another era. All in a unique setting: the Rhône a stone's throw away, and opposite, the Drôme bank with the Hermitage vineyards.
Tournon-sur-Rhône is a city of art and history in the Ardèche, nestled between the Rhône and the first slopes of the Massif Central. Its medieval castle from the 14th-16th centuries, which overlooks the river from a rocky outcrop, now houses the Rhône museum. The city is famous for its Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage wines, whose vines cover the steep slopes of the Drôme bank. The Quai Farconnet, at the foot of the castle, offers a shaded walk and a remarkable panorama of Tain-l'Hermitage and its famous vineyards.
The city also hosts the departure of the Ardèche train, a tourist steam railway that winds its way to Lamastre through the Gorges du Doux. This exceptional railway heritage attracts thousands of passionate visitors each year. Tournon, with its medieval streets, restaurants, and weekly market, is a must-see stop on the tourist route of Northern Ardèche.
The Bric à Broc association is a non-profit organization (law 1901) whose mission combines local animation and solidarity. Organizer of the monthly flea market on Quai Farconnet for several years, it has successfully created a loyal and appreciated event for the residents of Tournon and surrounding towns. The association strives to maintain a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, where regulars mingle with newcomers, families, and passing flea market enthusiasts.
The pitch fee, modest (€10 to €15 depending on the vehicle type), remains accessible to all and allows many individuals to clear out their attics and cellars by participating in this neighborhood event. Dogs on a leash are welcome. On-site, a refreshment stand and a snack bar are available for exhibitors and visitors to eat.
The flea market on Quai Farconnet is held all year round, in all weather, giving it an authentic and popular character. From dawn – starting at 4 am for exhibitors – the first stalls are set up on the quays. Visitors are welcomed from opening until 5 pm. The spring and summer months are particularly lively, with tourists coming to enjoy the Rhône valley and the Hermitage wine appellations. In autumn and winter, the flea market retains its intimate atmosphere and its charm as a local market.
Whether you are a seasoned treasure hunter looking for a rare piece, or simply a curious walker, the monthly flea market of Tournon-sur-Rhône invites you for a refreshing break by the Rhône, in one of the most beautiful towns in Northern Ardèche.
