Summer flea market in the village of Varennes-sur-Teche
Varennes-sur-Tèche is a small commune located in the Tèche valley, a tributary of the Besbre, in the northeast of the Allier department. Every summer, the festival committee organizes a flea market in the village streets, attracting bargain hunters and strollers from surrounding communes.
The Tèche is a small stream that winds through the Bourbonnais hedgerows before joining the Besbre. Varennes-sur-Tèche developed on its banks, in a hilly landscape typical of northern Allier. Green meadows, hornbeam hedges, and half-timbered farms make up a pleasant rural setting for a summer treasure hunting day.
This village flea market is typical of the events that liven up small Bourbonnais communes during the summer. It is a local gathering where residents of the surrounding villages meet to hunt for treasures, chat, and share a friendly moment around the stalls.
