Monthly market of antiques, flea market and booksellers with ~45 professionals, June to August
Every month from June to August, Buis-les-Baronnies hosts its monthly market of antiques, flea market and booksellers, one of the most popular professional events in the Baronnies provençales. Approximately 45 professional exhibitors - selected antique dealers, experienced second-hand dealers and passionate booksellers - set up in the exceptional medieval setting of the village to offer their finest pieces.
Classified among the most beautiful villages in France and labeled a city of art and history, Buis-les-Baronnies is an architectural gem nestled in a mountainous cirque on the border of the Drôme and Hautes-Alpes departments. Its 14th-century Gothic arcades, its Renaissance fountain, its private mansions and its paved alleys form a choice setting for this antique dealers' market. The world capital of lime trees attracts thousands of visitors each summer who, as they wander, discover this professional flea market.
With its around 45 professional exhibitors, this market is clearly distinct from private car boot sales. Dealers specializing in regional furniture, second-hand dealers offering Art Deco and Art Nouveau objects, booksellers with old and rare books, dealers in engravings and prints, dealers in silverware and fine porcelain: the offering is diverse and of high quality, aimed at both seasoned collectors and amateurs looking for a characteristic piece to decorate their interior.
The monthly frequency of this market, over the three summer months, offers several opportunities for visitors passing through the Baronnies to discover this event. Each edition partially renews its offering, with exhibitors presenting their latest acquisitions. Combined with the weekly Provençal market of Buis, the visit to the Scourtinerie and the lime tree museum, this monthly flea market is an additional reason to stop in this exceptional village.
