Flea market and village festival on Place Saint-Jean in Varennes-sur-Fouzon, with a local producers' market
Every year in May, Varennes-sur-Fouzon — a delegated commune of Val-Fouzon (36210) — organizes its village festival with a flea market on Place Saint-Jean. Around 52 exhibitors, both individuals and professionals, set up their stalls from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to offer antique furniture, trinkets, tableware, books, toys, and various flea market items. A market of local producers complements the event, allowing visitors to leave with regional products from Berry in addition to their finds.
Varennes-sur-Fouzon is a village in the northeast of Indre, on the edge of Sologne and Boischaut Nord. The commune is crossed by the Fouzon, a tributary of the Cher, which irrigates a countryside of meadows, woods, and cereal crops. Since the creation of the new commune of Val-Fouzon, the village has retained its identity with its church, its central square, and its market. The annual flea market is a highlight of local life, supported by the association Concept Val-Fouzon.
Fast food and a bar are available on site. The exhibitor spot is free, ensuring a generous and diverse offering for bargain hunters.
