The Festival Committee of Prouvais organizes a flea market every year in the streets of the commune, notably the Rue d'Amifontaine. This event, on a human scale with fewer than 50 exhibitors, reflects the spirit of conviviality and sharing that characterizes life in the small villages of the Laonnois region.

Prouvais, a small village in the Laonnois

Prouvais is a rural commune of 334 inhabitants (the Prouvaisiens), located in the Laonnois plain, about ten kilometers from Guignicourt. Perched at 116 meters above sea level, this 18 km² commune is surrounded by agricultural land and fields of wheat and beets typical of Picardy. Its territory, crossed by the history of the First World War, preserves the memory of the nearby Chemin des Dames battles.

Table service and village atmosphere

The particularity of this flea market is to offer table service provided by the Festival Committee, allowing visitors to share a friendly meal after the hunt. This formula, uncommon in flea markets, reinforces the village festival atmosphere that characterizes this event.
