Brocante Portes Ouvertes in September in La Bonneville-sur-Iton, Iton Valley
Every September, La Bonneville-sur-Iton organizes its Brocante Portes Ouvertes. This autumn event complements the spring car boot sale to form the duo of annual flea market events in this village in the Iton Valley. The "open doors" spirit gives the event a particularly friendly and welcoming character.
The "open doors" formula is a friendly variation of the traditional car boot sale. The village residents literally open their doors, courtyards, and gardens to display their items and sell what they no longer use. This proximity between sellers and buyers creates a warm and authentic atmosphere, very different from large traditional flea markets. Visitors wander from house to house, discovering the architectural character of the old Norman village along the way.
In September, the Iton Valley dons its first autumn attire. The warm colors of the apple trees and hedgerows create a particularly attractive setting for this open-air flea market. The mild September days in Normandy allow the flea market season to be extended in excellent conditions.
