Flea Market and Méchoui: The Village Festival Par Excellence

Every year in June, the association Cully Animation organizes its traditional brocante-méchoui in the hamlet of Cully, in the commune of Moulins en Bessin, opposite the town hall. This festive event combines the pleasure of bargain hunting with Norman gastronomy, in a rural setting between Creully and Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse.

A Generous Méchoui Meal

The méchoui is the highlight of the day. The menu includes an aperitif, a starter, grilled pork with fries, cheese, and dessert, all at a very affordable price: €13 for adults and €7 for children. The refreshment stand and chip stand complete the food offerings throughout the day.

The Bessin, Land of Hedges and History

Moulins en Bessin is a rural commune in Calvados nestled in the Bessin, a historic region located between Caen and Bayeux. The hamlet of Cully, at the crossroads between Creully-sur-Seulles and Bretteville-l'Orgueilleuse, retains an authentic character that gives the brocante-méchoui its special charm. Close to the D-Day landing beaches, the area also attracts passing tourists.

Entertainment and Camaraderie

Beyond the flea market and the meal, Cully Animation offers entertainment for children, a raffle, and a treasure hunt, making this day a true village celebration. The association, very active in the hamlet, contributes throughout the year to the local community life.
