Flea market and car boot sale organized by the Young Firefighters
The Young Firefighters of Stiring-Wendel are organizing their annual flea market, an event that combines a car boot sale and a traditional flea market. Individuals offer clothes, toys, books, tableware, small furniture, and various items. The proceeds from the event are used to finance the activities, training, and equipment of the JSP section.
Stiring-Wendel is a town of about 12,000 inhabitants located in the Lorraine mining basin, bordering Forbach and the German border (Saarbrücken). Once a mining town linked to the De Wendel family, the city preserves a remarkable industrial heritage and a spirit of solidarity inherited from its mining history. The associative fabric is particularly dense, as evidenced by the commitment of the Young Firefighters.
The Young Firefighters form the next generation of volunteer firefighters. From the age of 12, young people learn first aid, how to use equipment, and the values of solidarity specific to this corps. Organizing events like this flea market is an integral part of their training in associative life and civic engagement.
