The two Jardres hunting rendezvous
Jardres hosts two flea markets in 2026: Sundays 14 June and 13 September. In this Poitou countryside village, near Chauvigny and minutes from Poitiers, spring and late-season events gather private sellers and hunters in a friendly village atmosphere.
A commune of about 1,500 inhabitants 12 km east of Poitiers, between the capital and Chauvigny. Preserved rural character: Romanesque church, hedgerow landscape, active community life. Two markets in 2026: Sunday 14 June and Sunday 13 September — a rhythm typical of dynamic rural villages.
Each date has its flavour: June opens summer and draws Sunday families; September is more hunter-oriented with pros preparing pre-winter pieces.
Hunters can return: June = winter-accumulated goods; September = post-summer clear-outs. Sellers adjust. Testifies to local community dynamism.
Very close to Chauvigny (5 km), iconic Vienne medieval town with 5 fortresses (among Europe's most important). Big tourism asset: combine Jardres market with the Bishops' Castle and medieval town. Also Poitiers nearby (15 min).
