The Brocante Geek de La Chapelle-des-Pots: When thrifting meets pop culture

La Chapelle-des-Pots, a historic pottery village in Saintonge, has been hosting a new kind of flea market since 2025: the Brocante Geek. Organized by the Comité des fêtes in collaboration with Gaming Event, this event takes over the communal village hall for a day dedicated to the geek universe and pop culture, from 10 am to 5 pm.

A Unique Concept in Charente-Maritime

The Brocante Geek stands out from traditional flea markets with its specialization: here, stalls are filled with video games, manga, figurines, comics, trading cards, vinyl records, DVDs, merchandise from films and series, and all sorts of geeky curiosities. Individuals and professionals share the same space, offering visitors a varied selection, from retro gaming to the latest releases.

Tournaments, Lottery, and Free-Access Games

Beyond the flea market, the event offers activities for all ages: Tekken 8 tournaments on PS5 with prizes for the top three, a geek lottery Ichiban Kuji at 3 euros per ticket (100% winning), the presence of the Eevee mascot for souvenir photos, and a free-access video game and arcade area. Food and drinks are available on-site, provided by the Comité des fêtes.

La Chapelle-des-Pots is a village in Charente-Maritime, about ten kilometers north of Saintes, famous since the Middle Ages for its pottery tradition. The ceramic workshops that make it renowned now coexist with this resolutely modern event, testifying to the cultural dynamism of this small Saintonge commune. The village hall, at 17 route de Chaniers, offers an ideal covered space for this indoor flea market, with parking nearby.
