Antiques and curios every summer Friday on Anduze's market square
All summer long, Anduze's Fridays take on a special flavor thanks to the summer flea market organized on the market square (Plan Brie). From 6 am to 6 pm, individuals and professional dealers display their stalls under the Cévennes sky, offering antique furniture, tableware, trinkets, vintage textiles, books, decorative items, and all sorts of curiosities. The day's extended hours, longer than a simple morning market, allow for leisurely browsing and relaxed negotiation.
The event is organized by the Union des commerçants d'Anduze, which ensures the quality of the exhibitors and the animation of the town center during the peak tourist months. The mix of experienced dealers and individuals clearing out their attics ensures a wide variety of goods and makes each visit unique.
The summer period is Anduze's high season. The town, classified among the remarkable sites of the Gard, attracts thousands of visitors thanks to the Bambouseraie de Prafrance, the Cévennes Steam Train, and its proximity to the Gorges du Gardon. The Friday flea market naturally fits into this leisure offering, allowing vacationers to extend their exploration of local riches far beyond the natural sites.
The market square (Plan Brie) is the beating heart of Anduze, surrounded by medieval facades and dominated by the clock tower. It's an exceptional setting for treasure hunting, amidst ancient stones and century-old plane trees. A stop at one of the surrounding cafes or restaurants nicely complements a day of flea marketing.
