The Brocante du Verre: a unique event at the Site Verrier de Meisenthal

Every year in June, the Site Verrier de Meisenthal opens its doors for the Brocante du Verre, an event entirely dedicated to glass and crystal objects in all their forms. In the monumental Halle Verriere and the inner courtyard of the site, professional and private exhibitors offer antique glassware, crystal, lighting fixtures, bottles, tableware, and collector's items.

The Site Verrier, an exceptional heritage setting

The Site Verrier de Meisenthal occupies the buildings of the former glassworks founded in 1704. Classified as a historic monument, this industrial complex has been rehabilitated to house the Centre International d'Art Verrier (CIAV), where glassblowing artists create and innovate, perpetuating a three-century-old know-how. The Halle Verriere, a vast nave of glass and metal, provides a spectacular setting for the flea market.

Meisenthal, a gem of Lorraine's glass heritage

Meisenthal, a small village of 700 inhabitants nestled in a wooded valley in the Vosges du Nord Regional Natural Park, is inseparable from the history of glass in Lorraine. The famous glass Christmas bauble, created here in 1858 by a glassblower, has become a symbol of Moselle heritage. The Museum of Glass and Crystal, adjacent to the CIAV, traces this centuries-old glass adventure. Coming to hunt for glass in Meisenthal means diving into the authentic world of glass creation.

A reference event for collectors

The Brocante du Verre attracts collectors from all over the Grand Est region and beyond. Blown glass, crystal from Baccarat, Saint-Louis, or Lalique, Art Nouveau glassware, pieces by Galle or Daum, perfume bottles, lighting fixtures... the finds are commensurate with the region's glassmaking reputation. As spaces are limited, exhibitors must register with the CIAV.
