The Bastille Day brocante in the heart of the Huguenot village
Every 14 July, the Mérindol Culture association brings the village centre to life with its traditional Bastille Day brocante. In the streets and squares of this village marked by Waldensian memory, private sellers and dealers set up from early morning. A festive day combining treasure hunting, popular entertainment and Provençal atmosphere at the foot of the Luberon.
In Provençal villages, 14 July remains a major rendezvous of collective life. Parade, war memorial ceremony, popular ball, fireworks: the national holiday marks the day with moments of intensity throughout.
Mérindol Culture works for local heritage, whether Waldensian, Huguenot, Provençal or cultural. Its actions include exhibitions, conferences, guided tours.
The layout of Mérindol lends itself well to brocante: cobbled streets, shaded squares, fountains and character houses offer an authentic setting.
Mixed brocante and vide-grenier: second-hand Provençal furniture, antique linen, tableware, faience, trinkets, santons, paintings, books, records, postcards, vintage clothes, antique toys.
