About Garrigue Vide-Grenier

Every Easter Monday, the Garrigue neighbourhood of Mérindol comes alive for its traditional spring vide-grenier. At the foot of the Luberon massif, this village gathering brings together private sellers and small exhibitors on the pine-lined paths of the residential area. A chance to combine treasure hunting, a spring stroll and the discovery of a history-rich Huguenot village.

Mérindol, a memorial village at the foot of the Luberon

Mérindol holds a singular place in Provençal history. This village at the foot of the Luberon, on the Durance, is an important site of Waldensian and Protestant memory: the 1545 massacre, which decimated the Waldensian population of the Luberon, is one of the founding events of regional religious memory.

The Garrigue neighbourhood

The Garrigue neighbourhood is one of the village's residential extensions, set on the first slopes of the Luberon. Its name evokes the Mediterranean vegetation that surrounds it: pines, holm oaks, cistus, thyme and rosemary.

An Easter Monday gathering

Easter Monday is traditionally a family outing day in Provence. The Garrigue vide-grenier offers a rural setting for a day of strolling.

Garrigue Vide-Grenier — edition 2026

On Easter Monday 6 April 2026, the Garrigue neighbourhood of Mérindol hosted its traditional spring vide-grenier. Private sellers set up from 6 am along the pine-lined paths of the residential area, offering clothes, toys, books, tableware, tools and bric-à-brac. Mild weather and the friendly atmosphere drew families and bargain hunters from the southern Luberon.

2026 Edition Review

Easter Monday 6 April 2026 delivered on its promises for the Garrigue Mérindol vide-grenier. From dawn, private sellers from the neighbourhood and surroundings set up stalls along the residential paths, in the shade of pines and Mediterranean vegetation.

The morning saw strong attendance from hunters coming from Mérindol, Cheval-Blanc, Cavaillon, Lauris and nearby Luberon villages. Stalls offered the usual mix of clothes, toys, books, tableware, small furniture and tools.
