Annual May 1st flea market in Divajeu, a village in the Drôme valley
Divajeu is a small village in the Drôme, located a few kilometers northeast of Crest in the Drôme valley. On May 1st, the Labour Day public holiday, this village hosts its annual flea market, a modest but charming rural event that brings together local residents and a few visitors from Crest and neighboring villages.
The May 1st flea market in Divajeu has the charm of authentic village markets: few frills, lots of authenticity, items that have lived, and a warm atmosphere among neighbors who meet for a public holiday. Furniture, trinkets, tableware, clothing, and everyday tools are offered by residents, who take advantage of this event to clear out their attics.
An autonomous commune attached to the canton of Crest since the municipal mergers, Divajeu is located in the Drôme foothills, offering landscapes of hills and fields between the Rhône and Prealps valleys. The May 1st flea market is one of the few events that animates this rural village throughout the year, alongside votive festivals and sporting events.
