Flea market every 2nd Sunday of the month at the foot of the Tour de Crest
In the heart of the Drôme valley, the town of Crest hosts its monthly flea market every second Sunday of the month, on rue Henri Barbusse. Crest is a medieval city renowned for its tower, a listed monument whose keep reaches 52 meters, a record for a medieval keep in France. It is in this exceptional setting that treasure hunters regularly gather to browse the stalls and find bargains.
The flea market brings together individuals and professional dealers who present a wide variety of items: antique furniture, tableware and earthenware, trinkets, books, tools, vinyl records, and objects of all kinds. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere typical of provincial markets invites leisurely browsing and negotiation, in this lively town in the Drôme foothills.
Crest is the capital of the Provençal Drôme canton, nestled 46 km southeast of Valence. The town developed below its imposing medieval tower, which has watched over the confluence of the Drôme river and the diversion canal for centuries. The pedestrianized town center, with its cobbled streets, arcaded houses, and food shops, offers a pleasant extension to a stroll after the flea market.
The monthly flea market is an anticipated event in local life, allowing people to both clear out their attics and furnish their homes at affordable prices. Visitors come from Crest and all the surrounding villages in the Drôme valley, from Die to Livron, to participate in this popular family market.
