Grand Summer Car Boot Sale of Marvejols

Every early August, Marvejols (48100) transforms into a large open-air flea market: it's the Grand Summer Car Boot Sale, which takes over the squares and streets of the historic center of the medieval city of Gévaudan.

Co-organized by L'Étoile Marvejolaise, the association Espoir Oc, and the Office de Tourisme, du Commerce et de la Culture Gévaudan Destination, this annual event brings together up to 350 exhibitors, whether individuals or professionals. The hours are generous: from 6 am to 8 pm for exhibitors, with opening to visitors from 8 am. Admission is free.

Distinct from the Marvejols Spring Flea Market (professional market) and the bi-monthly Sunday flea market on the esplanade, this large summer car boot sale occupies the alleys and squares of the old town, offering a both touristy and festive stroll. Booking a spot is done through the tourist office, at a rate of €5 per spot.

Marvejols, medieval city of Gévaudan

Marvejols is a city steeped in history, known for its three medieval gates — the Porte du Soubeyran, the Porte de Chanelles, and the Porte du Théron — which still frame its historic center today. Built under the kings of France, it was also marked by the legendary Beast of Gévaudan in the 18th century. Its cobbled streets and granite buildings form an ideal setting for a large-scale car boot sale.
