Monthly flea market organized by the Marins de Châteauroux, every first Sunday of the month
Every first Sunday of the month, from 7 am to 1 pm, flea market enthusiasts gather in Châteauroux for the Brocante des Marins. Organized by the Marins de Châteauroux association, this monthly event has become a must-see in the Berry region's calendar. Professionals and individuals set up their stalls to offer antique furniture, trinkets, tableware, books, vinyl records, vintage clothing, and a thousand curiosities to discover in the early morning. Early birds often find the best treasures in an authentic flea market atmosphere.
The prefecture of Indre, Châteauroux is a city steeped in history in the heart of Berry. Raoul Castle, overlooking the Indre valley, gave the city its name. The city boasts remarkable architectural heritage with the former Cordeliers convent, the Saint-Martial church, and the Musée-Hôtel Bertrand. The monthly Brocante des Marins contributes to the liveliness of this city that cultivates the Berry art of living through its markets, heritage, and nature.
The monthly regularity of the Brocante des Marins makes it a practical event for bargain hunters: if you miss one month, you can find new stalls and new discoveries the following month. Entry is free, and the morning format allows you to combine bargain hunting with a visit to the market or a stroll in the Parc de Belle-Isle, Châteauroux's green lung developed in the 18th century.
Châteauroux is accessible via the A20 motorway (exits 12 or 13). Follow signs for the city center.
