Themed garden flea market and plant swap in the heart of the Seine-et-Marne Brie region
The Garden Flea Market and Plant Swap of Amillis is a themed spring event dedicated to the garden universe. Vintage tools, pottery, outdoor furniture, decoration, botany books, and above all exchanges of plants, cuttings, and seeds between enthusiasts: everything related to gardening finds its place in this Brie village. A friendly event to prepare the summer garden in the rural atmosphere of Amillis.
In spring, when nature reclaims its rights over the Brie countryside, the village of Amillis hosts its themed flea market dedicated to the garden and plant swaps. This original event attracts all gardening lovers who come to find the missing item in their toolkit or exchange cuttings with other enthusiasts. A formula that perfectly combines the tradition of rural flea markets and the spirit of sharing specific to gardeners.
On the stands are displayed heterogeneous treasures related to the art of gardening: vintage tools with a time-worn patina, old pruning shears, zinc watering cans, terracotta pottery, gardener's bells, statues and outdoor decoration, wrought iron garden furniture, horticultural books and magazines, old labels, seed boxes. The flea market also attracts lovers of industrial objects repurposed for the outdoors and enthusiasts of the rural aesthetic who draw inspiration here to decorate their green corner.
The plant swap dimension gives the event a special flavor. Amateur gardeners come with their perennial divisions, geranium cuttings, heirloom tomato seedlings, young shrub plants, and exchange freely or symbolically with other gardeners. Advice flows, rare varieties circulate, addresses and cultivation tips are shared. It's the highlight of the event, when the local gardening community is woven.
