Flea market specializing in Saint-Jean-de-Bretagne earthenware at the Salle Pierre Glet
The collectors' flea market of Saint Jean de Bretagne is held at the Salle Pierre Glet, rue des Frères Thébault in Saint-Jean-la-Poterie. Organized by Le Patiau and the Saint Jean de Bretagne earthenware factory, this specialized flea market offers the purchase, sale, and exchange of earthenware pieces from the former local factory. A unique event for collectors and lovers of Breton ceramic heritage.
Organized in partnership with Le Patiau, a center for ceramic art and history, the collectors' flea market is dedicated to pieces from the former Saint Jean de Bretagne earthenware factory. The exhibitors, passionate collectors, offer for sale plates, dishes, vases, pitchers, and other earthenware objects formerly produced in the commune's workshops.
Saint-Jean-la-Poterie is the only commune in France to bear the name of its historic artisanal activity. Since the Middle Ages, the village has been renowned for its production of pottery and earthenware. Le Patiau, located in the heart of the village, perpetuates this memory by hosting an integration workshop through pottery decoration, an exhibition space dedicated to contemporary ceramics, and a room retracing the village's pottery history.
The Salle Pierre Glet, located at 20 rue des Frères Thébault, hosts a handful of specialized exhibitors who present authentic pieces from the Saint-Jeannaise earthenware factory. This is a rare opportunity to discover and acquire pieces that are often difficult to find, bearing witness to centuries-old artisanal know-how.
