Car boot sale organized by the APEL of the Marcel Callo school in Redon, sub-prefecture of Ille-et-Vilaine
The APEL of the Marcel Callo school in Redon organizes its annual car boot sale for the benefit of the school's educational activities. Private sellers β parents, neighborhood families, and bargain hunters β offer a wide selection of second-hand items: children's clothing, toys, books, childcare equipment, small furniture, and knick-knacks. The profits from the event (pitch fees, refreshment stand) are entirely donated to the association to finance school trips, shows, and educational projects.
Redon, a sub-prefecture of Ille-et-Vilaine, is a town of 9,500 inhabitants located at the confluence of the Vilaine and the Oust rivers, at the crossroads of three departments (Ille-et-Vilaine, Morbihan, Loire-Atlantique). A former monastic city founded around the abbey of Saint-Sauveur in the 9th century, Redon prospered thanks to river and sea trade. The town retains a rich architectural heritage: half-timbered houses in the old center, a marina, and the Romanesque cloister of the abbey church. Redon is today a dynamic center of services and community life for the entire Redon region.
The Marcel Callo school is named after the blessed Redon native, a young resistant deported during World War II. This Catholic school educates several hundred students from kindergarten to 5th grade. The very active APEL regularly organizes events β including this car boot sale β to strengthen ties between families and support school life.
