Grand flea market on Whit Monday in the streets of Vic-sur-Seille
Every Whit Monday, the brocante of Vic-sur-Seille transforms the streets of this small town into a vast open-air market. Approximately 200 exhibitors set up along a 4-kilometer circuit that crosses the historic center. The event, which starts as early as 5 am, attracts early morning bargain hunters from all over the department. The Foyer Georges de La Tour, organizer of the event, offers refreshments and food on site.
Vic-sur-Seille is a small town of 1,500 inhabitants, a former episcopal city and the birthplace of the painter Georges de La Tour (1593-1652), master of chiaroscuro. The town preserves remarkable architectural heritage: medieval ramparts, a Romanesque church, half-timbered houses, and private mansions. The Musée départemental Georges de La Tour exhibits works by the master and his contemporaries.
The 25th Vic-sur-Seille Flea Market was held on Monday, May 25, 2026 (Whit Monday), in the streets of the hometown of painter Georges de La Tour. Organized by the Foyer Georges de La Tour, this annual edition brought together approximately 200 exhibitors — professional dealers, antique dealers, and private individuals — offering antique furniture, trinkets, crockery, vinyl records, books, and second-hand items. Free admission for bargain hunters, food and refreshment stand on site throughout the day.
